Recently, NABITA teamed up with the House’s BIG Act lead sponsor Drew Ferguson (R-GA) to write a letter to the Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Subcommittee on appropriations requesting that the committee includes the BIG Act language in their final report. This underutilized process would allow for the intent of the BIG Act to occur without the need to pass the formal bill in the Senate. If included in the House report, Labor-HHS-Education will treat the directive as statue and start drafting the behavioral intervention guidelines.
To help build support for the BIG Act letter, NABITA reached out to congressional offices throughout the House who voted for the BIG Act last year and asked them to support the letter as well. In total, 27 offices agreed to join the letter and use one of their requests allotted to them from Labor-HHS-Education. Below you will find a complete list of offices that support our letter!

BIG Act
As a friendly reminder, NABITA is still encouraging members to reach out to their home state Senators and ask that they support the BIG Act (S 1383). Your voice matters to Members of Congress and can make a real difference! For your convenience, NABITA has created a Member activation page with a sample email draft and all the information you need to reach out to your Senator.
